Because P. penicillium NCIMB 30068 and NCIMB 30044 are resistant to antibiotic tetracycline, they may spread to other microorganisms and are also resistant to tetracycline, so it is not certain that P. penicillium NCIMB 30068 and NCIMB 30044 will not adversely affect animal health, human health or the environment. . According to the approval conditions of Chapter 5 of Regulation (EC) No 1831/2003, the EU refused to approve the use of Pediococcus pentosace NCIMB 30068 and Pediococcus pentosace NCIMB 30044 as feed additives. In addition, existing stocks and premixes of Pediococcus pentosace NCIMB 30068 and NCIMB 30044 should be withdrawn from the market as soon as possible, no later than September 30, 2014; silage should be depleted until August 1, 2014.
This regulation shall take effect on the 20th day after its publication.
