Iron ion removal method in raw water

More iron ions in water will cause a rapid increase in the pressure difference of the reverse osmosis equipment. The long time will cause membrane fouling. Reverse osmosis water has strict limits on the amount of iron in the water (iron content must be less than 0.05mg/L). The entry of ions into the reverse osmosis RO system will contaminate the membrane, resulting in a rapid increase in the pressure difference of the reverse osmosis apparatus over a long period of time resulting in fouling of the reverse osmosis RO membrane. It is also possible to form rust sludge in the presence of iron bacteria, causing fouling of reverse osmosis RO membranes.

The removal method of iron ions in raw water generally has the following four types: iron removal by coagulation method, iron removal by chemical precipitation method, iron removal method by manganese sand filtration method, iron removal by lime alkalizing method.

1. The coagulation method can be used when the iron salt in the molten iron is in the form of ferric hydroxide colloid or organic compound colloid (such as humic acid iron). The coagulant can be used to destabilize the colloid and agglomerate into large particles in the clarification and filtration process. Remove it.

2. Lime Alkaliation Method When the content of SO42- in the water is large when removing iron, the aeration method cannot be used to remove the iron from the water, and the lime alkalization method must be used. When lime is added to water, it reacts with ferrous sulfate in water to produce ferrous ferrous hydroxide. When the pH of the water is greater than 8, Fe(OH)2 in the water can be quickly oxidized to Fe(OH)3 floccular precipitate. Remove the iron.
