1. Screen Installation Plan
Some of the current window sizes are not ideal for screens, especially when the window height is too tall and the width is too narrow. This can make it difficult to use the screens comfortably. For example, if the window is too high, it requires more effort to operate. The mesh can be blown out by wind, and magnetic screens may not stick properly (magnetic screens are no longer widely used in most areas).
Recommendation: If your window is wider than 1 meter, consider ordering a side-pull screen design. It’s easier to use and avoids many of the issues mentioned above. A side-pull system also helps extend the lifespan of the screen because it reduces pressure on the hardware components. While this option may cost more, it ensures better performance and fewer malfunctions during the warranty period. When choosing a windproof method, opt for brush-type wind seals to prevent wind from blowing through and avoid the mesh getting stuck or damaged.
2. Screen Door Installation Plan
The lower track of the screen door is often stepped on, so it's important to choose a screen door with a thick profile and anti-tread reinforcement to ensure durability.
Recommendation: If the screen door is wider than 1.2 meters, it’s best to install two doors instead of one. This allows for smoother opening and closing, as a single door may cause uneven tension and difficulty in rewinding.
3. Color Matching Plan
Since there are many color options available for doors and windows, it’s important to check the color quality after purchasing the screen door or window. Make sure there is no fading or peeling, and ask about the color processing technology before making a purchase. Most major manufacturers use electrostatic powder coating or broken aluminum, which offer good color retention and durability. The process for coloring doors and windows is similar to that of the screen systems.
8. Invisible Screens Are Difficult to Clean
Invisible screens are known for being hard to clean. Traditional methods like using a single-sided top have proven ineffective for thoroughly cleaning both sides of the mesh. Some models, like the live head type, allow the mesh to be removed easily, but they can pose security risks and inconvenience. Newer self-cleaning invisible screen windows come with a built-in brush at the edge of the screen box. As the screen is lowered, the brush automatically removes dust and lint from the mesh surface. While this feature improves cleanliness, it doesn’t completely eliminate the need for manual cleaning.
