Yesterday, the E-concave solar house jointly built by 58 undergraduate students from South China University of Technology was completed at the Guangzhou Red Sands site. This sleek home, which occupies an area of ​​only 88 square meters, can not only generate electricity to meet residential needs, but can also be used to generate electricity. Use an iPad to control the whole house's electrical appliances, integrating environmental protection, intelligence and fashion. In August this year, this detachable work will participate in the China International Solar Decathlon.

The E-concave solar house is co-ordinated by a number of institutions such as the China University of Construction and Technology and has a team of up to 58 people. It is supported by 13 organizations including the China Construction 4th Bureau, China Industrial Solar Technology Holdings Co., Ltd. and China Jianshe Steel Structure Co., Ltd. It took more than one year to complete.

The biggest feature of E-concave is energy saving. Photovoltaic panels are installed on the roof, generating more than 60 degrees per day. According to calculations, it can produce more than twice as much electricity as it consumes in one year. Even if there is rain and heavy snow, it can guarantee the normal power supply of the house and truly realize the “negative energy consumption” of the house. The excess electricity can be sent to the grid. The house adopts a solar thermal integrated photovoltaic heat plate, which can heat tap water at the same time to meet the normal hot water needed for the house, and achieve a 300% utilization rate of solar energy.

E-concave is still a smart cottage. Most home appliances and equipment can be intelligently controlled. Through mobile phones and tablet computers, you can see the energy consumption of the house and the change of room temperature. You can also control the lights, TVs, projectors, curtains, and sunroofs of houses to open. In conjunction with the kinect somatosensory system, houses can control light patterns by recognizing gestures.

It is worth mentioning that the house can reach grade 7 earthquake resistance, which can not only be used for daily living in most areas, but also be transported to the disaster area after the earthquake and installed and operated within two weeks. However, the housing price is not cheap, about 2 million yuan, and it is expected that the industrialization cost will reach 1.5 million yuan.
