Jiande City Demonstrates Silicone Downstream Industry Development Plan

On December 14th, experts from the Organic Silicon Material Industry Association of Zhejiang Province, Zhejiang University, and Hangzhou Normal University, as well as leaders of the relevant departments and townships (sub-districts) of the city, gathered together to demonstrate the development plan of the silicone downstream industry in the city.

Silicone materials are an important part of advanced polymer materials, and their “sunburst, basic, and strategic” features are very prominent. Silicone downstream industries are the city's characteristic and advantageous industries and have a good foundation for development. As an environmentally sensitive area located in the upper reaches of the Qiantang River, especially the “Two Rivers and One Lake” scenic area, the development of the silicone downstream industry in our city encountered environmental resource constraints, weak industrial comprehensive strength, and development of organic silicon downstream products. We need urgently to strengthen a series of development bottlenecks. How to seize the historical opportunities for development, accelerate the transformation of the city's organic silicon downstream industries to modern industrial models, and ensure that the city's organic silicon downstream industries develop soundly and quickly, which has become an important issue faced by the municipal government and enterprises.

In order to speed up the development of the silicone downstream industry in our city, the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau took the lead, together with Zhejiang Organic Materials Industry Association and Zhejiang Xin'an Chemical Group Co., Ltd., to form a joint task force to compile the "Silicon downstream industry development plan of Jiande City". The plan bases on the actual development of the silicone downstream industry in the city, analyzes and studies the development status and trends of silicone downstream industries at home and abroad, and the development opportunities and challenges of the city. Based on this, it proposes the development of silicone organic downstream industries in our city. The guiding ideology and goals, initiatives, development priorities, and safeguards.

At the demonstration meeting, the participants proposed amendments to the planning text in terms of planning deadlines, development priorities, development directions, development layout, and development goals. Everyone agreed that the development of silicone downstream products is a powerful way to improve the quality of economic development in our city and promote the transformation and upgrading of the silicone industry. We must bring into play the leading role, strengthen market orientation, attach great importance to propaganda and training, consider related industries, be highly skilled, be unique, and advance toward technological improvement and product improvement.

Xu Jianhua, deputy mayor, participated in the demonstration meeting and pointed out in his speech that planning should not only build high buildings, but also be down-to-earth; it is necessary to focus on the current and long-term planning. Xu Jianhua also put forward opinions on planning basis, planning deadline, text framework, guiding ideology, development goals, and development guarantees.
