Ministry of Education, Lenovo, and Yutong reached a school bus safety cooperation

On May 31st, the Education Equipment Research and Development Center of the Ministry of Education, Lenovo Group, and Zhengzhou Yutong Bus Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement in Beijing to develop a school bus safety operation information system. This collaboration aims to research and establish standards for the system, build a dynamic information management platform for safe school bus operations, and explore a supervision model tailored to China’s unique conditions. The goal is to ensure the safety, standardization, and efficiency of school bus operations. Liu Shihai, Deputy Director of the Education Equipment Research and Development Center, Li Xianglin, Vice President of Lenovo, and Niu Bo, General Manager of Yutong, were present at the signing ceremony. School bus safety has long been a major concern across society. It requires coordinated efforts from government regulators, equipment manufacturers, operators, and schools. While current certifications for school buses, drivers, and escorts help, they are not sufficient to fully address operational risks. With the rapid growth in the number of school buses on the road, it has become increasingly urgent to enhance the information management of their safe operation. The Education Equipment Research and Development Center, as a key institution for educational equipment policy research and technological development, plays a vital role in setting standards and providing technical support. Lenovo, a global leader in technology, brings extensive experience in IT solutions and services. Yutong, China's leading school bus brand, possesses core vehicle technologies and car networking capabilities. Together, the three parties aim to combine their strengths and resources to fill gaps in school bus supervision and systematically improve safety management. Liu Shihai emphasized that this partnership aligns with the "Regulations on School Bus Safety Management" and represents a significant step toward ensuring student safety. Li Xianglin highlighted Lenovo's strong technical foundation and its commitment to supporting the development of school bus information systems. Niu Bo noted Yutong's long-standing dedication to school bus safety and its ongoing contributions to the industry. Looking ahead, the three organizations will work closely to develop technical, service, and management standards for the school bus safety system. The data collection platform marks the beginning of a comprehensive supervision system, ultimately ensuring safer school bus operations and protecting students' well-being.
