What to do in extreme weather

What to do in extreme weather

When encountering extreme weather in the field, we must pay attention to personal safety. The power of nature cannot be ignored. We must respect nature. Therefore, we must learn how to deal with extreme weather before entering the wild.

Thunderstorms usually began with the development of small cumulus clouds and then developed rapidly. After a period of intense cumulus clouds development and a mature cumulonimbus stage, it was a fierce, harsh and drastically changing weather. Field personnel should pay attention to the following points: 1) Thunderstorms may occur when cumulus clouds begin to accumulate and turn black. 2) Thunderstorms usually last for a short period of time. To stay calm, don't be afraid to stay away.

The danger of lightning is the breakdown of objects and the human body, causing fires, and the thunder that is generated can break the human eardrum. So it should be remembered:

1) Cars are often excellent lightning protection facilities and can be hid in cars.

2) The best places for protection are caves, ditches, canyons, or gaps under tall tall trees.

3) If you are in the open air, you should leave twice the height of the isolated tree.

4) When you feel the charge, that is, the hair is erected or the skin is trembling, it is very likely that you have received an electric shock and you should immediately fall to the ground and protect yourself.

5) If you evade near an isolated projection, the top of the projection should be at least 15-20 meters above your own head.

6) Leave vertical walls or cliffs, avoid exposed mountains and ridges and flat open terrain.

7) Avoid ground fissures, patches of lichen, and suspended rocks. 8) You must not sit in the middle of scattered rocks.

9) Use a rope to secure yourself at the topography. 10) If you go into the tunnel to avoid lightning, you should leave all vertical walls 3 meters away to prevent the wall from conducting electricity.

In the event of flash floods, due to the rapid rainfall, the surface is too late to absorb the rain, and the frozen earth and rock can hardly stop the rain and water from escaping, which will exacerbate the flash floods. Therefore, when the thunderstorm activity is intense, avoid the long gutters and the flat extension underneath the river bed. Depart from areas that are vulnerable to flooding and, if necessary, dispose of them to shift to higher grounds, taking care not to attempt to hike past streams that reach knees.

Weather conditions can increase or decrease body temperature and affect human health. The three most important weather factors are temperature, wind speed, and relative humidity. Under cold conditions, the influence of temperature and the influence of wind are inseparable. Both tend to lose heat at the same time, and the soaking value of soaked clothes will drop by 90%. So a simple and easy way to survive in a cold environment is to maintain proper movement but not to sweat. In a hot and humid environment, people may experience fatigue, headache, loss of appetite, insomnia, severe dehydration, and general fatigue and enthusiasm. Attention should be paid to avoiding wild activities under this climate.

Silicon Carbide

Silicon Carbide is the only chemical compound of carbon and silicon. It was originally produced by a high temperature electro-chemical reaction of sand and carbon. Silicon carbide is an excellent abrasive and has been produced and made into grinding wheels and other abrasive products for over one hundred years. Today the material has been developed into a high quality technical grade ceramic with very good mechanical properties. It is used in abrasives, refractories, ceramics, and numerous high-performance applications. The material can also be made an electrical conductor and has applications in resistance heating, flame igniters and electronic components. Structural and wear applications are constantly developing.

It is produced from quartz sand and high quality anthracite under high temperature in an electric resistance furnace. If looks black and has a microhardness of 2800-3300kg\mm2,being used for produce the abrasive tools. It is also fit for process the grind metals and non-metals material of  low tensile strength, such as  grey cast iron, brass, aluminium ,stone, leather and hard rubber ect. Also can be used as refractory materials and in electronic industry.
