Labor Insurance Supervision Safeguards Rights and Interests for Migrant Workers

In 2024, labor inspection authorities across Guigang City have made significant progress in addressing wage arrears for rural migrant workers. A total of 183 cases were investigated and resolved, resulting in the recovery of 13.32 million yuan in unpaid wages for 1,995 migrant workers. This effort is part of the city's broader initiative under the Municipal People's and Social Security Bureau to "protect rights, maintain stability, and promote development" by strengthening labor security supervision. To ensure compliance, the city conducted a thorough review of written materials submitted by 536 applicants, covering approximately 55,600 workers. These reviews help monitor employment conditions and enforce legal standards. The city also actively handled complaints and reports from the public, addressing 679 cases involving various labor violations such as wage withholding, illegal contract practices, unauthorized deposit collection, and failure to participate in social insurance. A total of 271 cases were filed and successfully closed, achieving a 100% resolution rate. This demonstrates the effectiveness of the city’s efforts in safeguarding workers’ rights. Daily inspections have been intensified to ensure that employers comply with labor laws. Over 1,525 companies were inspected, and 120 instances of non-compliance were corrected. A total of 101,700 workers were involved, and 12,700 laborers were advised to sign proper labor contracts with their employers. Special enforcement campaigns were launched, including initiatives like "Wage Payments for Migrant Workers," "Reorganization of the Human Resources Market," and "Compliance with Labor and Social Insurance Laws." These efforts led to the issuance of 136 correction orders across 1,160 units, resolving 136 cases of labor protection violations. A specific focus was placed on ensuring timely wage payments to migrant workers, especially in construction sites, labor service companies, and large infrastructure projects such as highways and high-speed railways. During these special inspections, 61 cases of wage arrears were addressed, with 1,055 migrant workers receiving their overdue wages. This not only protected their rights but also contributed to the overall stability and harmony of Guigang City. China Labor Insurance Network
