A few days ago, the National Furniture Standardization Technical Committee sponsored by the Jiangsu Provincial Product Quality Supervision, Inspection and Research Institute, "Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Plastic Furniture" and other five furniture standards review meeting was held in Nanjing. At the meeting, the National Standard for "Furniture Industry Terminology" formulated by the School of Furniture and Industrial Design of Nanjing Forestry University passed the review by the expert group and is considered to reach the international advanced level.
The National Standards Development Project of "Furniture Industry Terminology" is a plan approved by the National Standardization Administration Committee in November 2009 (No. 20091836-T-607). This standard project is under the jurisdiction of the National Furniture Standardization Technical Committee and chaired by A number of representative well-known furniture companies in China jointly drafted and prepared. At the standard review meeting, the expert group discussed the standard draft and preparation instructions, and put forward opinions and suggestions. In the end, the validation meeting believed that the standard reached the international advanced level and unanimously passed the validation of the standard.
The National Standard for "Furniture Industry Terminology" stipulates widely used terms in the furniture industry. Its technical content includes four parts: the Chinese name, common name, English name, explanation (or illustration) of the terminology, and the scope of the term includes furniture. There are nine parts: types, types of furniture, furniture parts, furniture materials, wooden furniture processing, metal furniture processing, software furniture processing, furniture surface finishing and decoration, furniture performance quality and so on. This standard is the basic standard of the furniture industry. Its formulation and implementation will surely unify and standardize the terminology of the furniture industry in China, the harmonious development of the furniture industry and the market, the protection of the legitimate rights and interests of manufacturers and consumers, and the internationalization of the furniture industry. Trade, commerce, business operations, market management, industry supervision, scientific research and teaching play an active role in guiding and effectively promoting.
