Vitrified brick classification

Vitrified bricks are primarily used as floor tiles and come in a variety of standard sizes, including 400x400mm, 500x500mm, 600x600mm, 800x800mm, 900x900mm, and 1000x1000mm. These dimensions are widely adopted in both residential and commercial applications due to their versatility and aesthetic appeal.

Ultra-fine powder bricks represent a specialized type of vitrified brick. Unlike traditional solid or patterned bricks, the production process for ultra-fine powder bricks results in a distinct surface finish. To identify these bricks, you can examine the back of the tile—its base color should match the surface color, indicating a uniform composition throughout the material.

Ultra-fine powder vitrified bricks are considered the pinnacle of polished tile technology. The particle size in these bricks is less than 0.01 mm³, which is only 1/20 to 1/100 the size of particles found in conventional polished bricks. This finer composition contributes to a smoother, more durable surface with enhanced visual quality.

The manufacturing process of ultrafine powdered vitrified bricks incorporates cutting-edge techniques from the polished tile industry. Their introduction has significantly improved upon the limitations of traditional polished bricks, such as limited color variety, lackluster finish, poor wear resistance, and weak stain and water resistance. As a result, they are seen as the future direction for high-quality polished flooring solutions.

One unique characteristic of vitrified tiles is their microporous structure, which, while contributing to their strength, also presents a challenge. After installation, it's common to apply wax multiple times—typically three coats—and then reapply wax every few months to maintain the surface. Without regular waxing, water or colored liquids like soy sauce, ink, soup, or tea can seep into the pores, leading to staining and discoloration over time. Additionally, the shine on the surface may fade, affecting the overall appearance of the floor. Therefore, maintaining vitrified tiles requires more attention compared to other flooring options, making them a bit more labor-intensive in the long run.
