Recently, the High-tech Zone of Chongqing officially launched the training program for the "Ping An Card," a key component of this new system. It's expected that by the end of this year, over 16,000 construction workers in the area will receive their safety cards, effectively giving them a "safe passport" to work with confidence and security.
Unlike traditional group training sessions, the Ping An Card training in the High-tech Zone has been tailored to meet the specific needs of the workers. According to an official from the Construction Management Bureau, the program takes into account the varying levels of education among frontline workers. To ensure effective learning, the training team has developed more interactive materials and extended the duration of sessions. On-site demonstrations of how to properly wear safety helmets, safety belts, and non-slip shoes have become a core part of the curriculum, alongside lessons on general safety protocols.
To avoid disrupting ongoing projects, the training team conducts sessions during workers’ rest periods and even sets up mobile stations to provide one-on-one assistance for those who need extra guidance. This flexible approach has significantly improved participation and understanding among the workforce.
Both migrant workers and construction companies are benefiting from the initiative. Workers feel more empowered and protected, while companies report fewer accidents and better site management without additional costs or project delays. Looking ahead, the High-tech Zone plans to complete the training of over 16,000 construction workers in 2024 and roll out the safety card system comprehensively across the industry by 2025.
