Chongqing fire brigade and district government work together to update fire-fighting equipment

During a special inspection, the fire department discovered that some of the fire-fighting equipment in the shopping center of the Three Gorges Square was aged and no longer functioning properly. In response, the detachment, along with the local government, organized multiple joint meetings involving safety supervision departments, business committees, fire control units, the Three Gorges Square Business Circle Office, Kuang Road Street, and other relevant agencies to discuss solutions and allocate funds for necessary repairs.

According to reporter Kong Zhiquan, the Shapingba District Public Security Fire Department in Chongqing has successfully introduced a "non-violation" policy, helping local governments address long-standing issues related to aging fire facilities in high-rise buildings. These challenges include properties with multiple ownerships, lack of property management, and insufficient funds for major repairs. Through coordinated efforts, the department has made significant progress in ensuring these buildings meet safety standards and reduce potential risks.

The initiative highlights the importance of collaboration between different sectors to tackle complex urban infrastructure problems. By working together, local authorities and fire departments can ensure public safety while addressing systemic issues that have long been overlooked.
