Chongqing fire brigade and district government work together to update fire-fighting equipment

During a special operations inspection, the fire department discovered that some of the firefighting equipment in the Three Gorges Square shopping center was aging and no longer functioning properly. This issue raised concerns about public safety, prompting immediate action from local authorities. In response, the fire detachment, along with the district government, organized three joint meetings involving multiple departments such as safety supervision, business committees, fire control, the Three Gorges Square Business Circle Office, and Kuang Road Street. These meetings aimed to develop effective solutions and secure the necessary funds for repairs and upgrades.

According to reporter Kong Zhiquan, the Shapingba District Public Security Fire Department in Chongqing has successfully implemented a "non-violation" policy. This initiative has helped local governments address long-standing issues related to aging fire facilities in high-rise buildings, particularly those with multiple property owners, no dedicated property management, and insufficient funds for major repairs. Through coordinated efforts, the department has made significant progress in improving fire safety standards in these challenging environments.
